New (School) Year, New You!
Welcome back to the new school year!
It’s that time of year when you start back to school trainings, getting your caseload, meeting new colleagues, and seeing some friendly, familiar faces. If you started in the last 2 years, the educational landscape continues to change. You are a rockstar. Your ability to be flexible, courageous, adaptable, and resilient shined brighter than ever.
There is one common theme amongst many service providers in special education: lack of connection and community. Many were in survival mode. It might have looked like we were holding it together on the outside, but on the inside, the struggle was real. For those that had to do a hybrid of in-person and remote spent more time sitting at a computer than they’re used to. It might have been nice at first to reduce driving and hauling all our supplies with us. Then the realization comes in that we were meant to move, socialize, and support our students in-person.
Sadly, we don’t usually get collaboration time and we are left wondering, “Is there a better way to address this?” or “I’m stuck, this isn’t working, what else can I do?”
What if…
…there was a group of other service providers out there that wanted to connect, collaborate, and share thoughts and ideas synchronously?
…you developed the skills that they don’t teach you in school to build rapport, automate as many systems as possible, and free your time to interact more with the students (you know, the reason you wanted to be a service provider to begin with).
…you felt inspired and had a renewed sense of energy after a Zoom call, instead of drained and exhausted?
If you answer 'yes' to the following questions...
Are you new in the special education field and want to connect with other services providers and educators?
Are you the only or one of a few service provider in your district and seek guidance and collaboration with others?
Did you want to learn more than just interventions such as building rapport with staff, students, and parents for better follow through, increase documentation efficiency, reduce the time spent outside the school day on work, all while having a fun, supportive community?
Would you like to utilize and incorporate assistive technology into your program but aren't sure where to start?
Do you consider yourself creative, innovative, and tend to go above and beyond to make the world a little bit better everyday?
...then we are looking for someone just like you!
